BRINGING HOPE TO A NATION
Mission
PAROLE D'ESPOIR 5 MISSIONS
ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Nearly 50 years ago, a young boy lost his father. With his father gone, he lost a strong advocate in his life. He lived in misery and experienced much injustice. This could have been the end for this little boy, but he held firm to his faith in Jesus. What may have been meant for bad in this little boy’s life, turned into a passion to not only help others, but to care for them, to bring them to the other side, to encourage their success. That little boy was Dr. Rev. Michel Ouedraogo.

Rev. Michel's passion to care for others has grown into an extensive Parole d’Espoir over the years to serve the community he and his wife, Lydie, have aspired to parent. Parole d’Espoir is French for Word of Hope, who is Jesus. Jesus is the hope that Rev. Michel and Lady Lydie are bringing to their nation with five (5) main areas of focus – health; evangelism; the Village of Hope (Kindergarten - secondary education and tech school); university; and farming and agriculture.

Through partnerships with people like you, a new day is dawning not only to meet needs of the community, but to bring hope to an entire nation.

It all started in 2001 with the Village of Hope. Village of Hope was founded on the legacy of one adopted child, Sarah. Pastor Michel and his wife, Lydie, adopted Sarah from one of the villages. Raised in the Ouedraogo household, Sarah grew up to study and become a nurse. Once Sarah graduated nursing school, she returned to Village of Hope as a nurse to help with the medical needs of the children and staff. Today, Pastor Michel and his wife, Lydie, care for over 400 children, providing food, shelter, and an education at their boarding school – the Village of Hope. Just as Sarah did, these children return to their villages several times each year to pay it forward and help others in need.

The Village of Hope is just one of the five focus areas of the Parole d'Espoir family of networks. In addition to the Village of Hope (Kindergarten-12 and tech school), there is also a hospital, Source de Vie (Source of Life), an up and coming university, Light of Hope African University, farming projects and Pastor Michel’s evangelism ministry.
